At the International Para Pickleball Association, we are dedicated to creating para pickleball opportunities for dwarfs, standing, wheelchair, Intellectual Disabilities & Cerebral Palsy, allowing them to engage fully in this exciting sport. Our mission is to promote international para pickleball and ensure that everyone can experience the joy of play. 

The IPPA is working tirelessly to secure Para Pickleball’s inclusion in both the World Ability Sports Federation and the International Paralympic Committee, paving the way for future para pickleball championships and events.

The International Para Pickleball Association (IPPA) is excited to announce the inaugural IPPA World Championships, an inclusive pickleball event taking place in Kuala Lumpur from June 10th to 15th, 2028. We warmly invite Para Pickleball players from Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania to join us in this groundbreaking international para pickleball celebration. Be part of history as we bring together the global Para Pickleball community for the Para Pickleball Championships 2028 in Kuala Lumpur.

Standing Para Pickleball is an inclusive pickleball format designed for athletes with lower limb impairments, including single-leg disabilities classified under categories PP42 to PP44 & PP-SLA. This adaptation allows players to compete while standing, with modified rules that ensure fair and inclusive play. Standing Para Pickleball emphasizes agility, balance, and skill, offering athletes the chance to participate in international para pickleball competitions, such as the para pickleball championships, while promoting physical fitness and community participation.

Dwarf Para Pickleball is designed specifically for athletes classified within categories PP40 to PP41, fostering an inclusive pickleball environment that is tailored to their unique physical characteristics. This division promotes fair play through adapted rules that accommodate stature while preserving the dynamic, fast-paced nature of pickleball. As part of the international para pickleball community, Dwarf Para Pickleball celebrates athleticism, skill, and teamwork, empowering athletes to compete with confidence and pride in para pickleball championships.

The IPPA World Ranking System, overseen by the International Para Pickleball Association (IPPA) based in Sriracha, Thailand, serves as the official performance-based framework for ranking para pickleball athletes on a global scale. Players earn ranking points through their best 10 results over a 52-week period, with rankings updated weekly following each event, including those at the para pickleball championships. Event recognition is contingent upon meeting IPPA’s rigorous standards for technical quality, classification, international participation, and compliance with anti-doping and event management protocols, all contributing to the advancement of inclusive pickleball.

Wheelchair Para Pickleball caters to athletes with physical impairments classified within categories PP51 to PP57. This inclusive pickleball division adapts traditional pickleball rules to suit wheelchair users, ensuring fair and competitive play. Wheelchair Para Pickleball emphasizes skill, strategy, and athleticism, providing an empowering platform for athletes to compete at all levels, including the international para pickleball championships. The focus is on inclusion based on their functional capacity and how their impairment affects their ability to perform sport-specific skills, rather than just the nature of the impairment itself.
